This morning you may check the Site Stats on your WordPress self-hosted blog and get the message
Your WordPress.com account, …….. is not authorized to view the stats of this blog. Currently access to stats is broken for some users and we are working on fixing this. Your stats are still being counted and will be visible once we restore access for your account
You have couple of actions open to you:
- Wait until WordPress fixes the problem
- Switch to a different stats plugin
If you go for the latter option then try using JetPack but make sure you deactivate the WordPress.com Stats plugin first otherwise you will run into problems.
JetPack is a bundle of plugins from WordPress.com that includes
- WordPress.com stats
- Twitter Widget
- Gravatar Hovercards
- WP.me Shortlinks
- Sharedaddy
- LaTeX markup language
- After the Deadline spelling and grammar checker
- Shortcode Embed
More about these features can be found at the JetPack site

Thank you for the info Russ!
Eight plugins instead of one – no, this is not an option. I’ll wait.
Hi Ronny,
Thanks for your comment.
JetPack is implemented as a single plugin however you are right that it would be rather heavyhanded to install it and only use the WordPress.com stats piece.
On the plus side JetPack is written by WordPress.com so the code quality should be the same standard as WordPress itself.
Regards
Russell
Thanks for info this has been driving me crazy because I thought it was my site. This info was 7 pages back after I googled issue. Thanks for info I guess we will wait.
Cool about Jetpack.. I dumped the stats plugin and went with JP and plan to use some of the extras soon. But at least I got my stats back.
